One of the first songs we wrote, and one of our best. From the very first line you knew GO! was NOT your typical NYHC band.
There originally were lyrics for "Survival" but they must've really suck or not fit or anything cos they didn't appear here (or on our first ep, where rerecorded versions of both of these songs eventually ended up.)
lyrics
If you want to you can bash a"fag"
He's committed some sin
Or you can kill a black or white
Cos of the color of skin
Burn a book, kill an author
Who will complain?
Start a small riot to give yourself a name
Poison food, plant a bomb, kill a marine
Burn a flag, put prayer in schools,
Or outlaw wet dreams
But to me
I just can't see
With your need to belong
What if you're wrong?
Blackmail a politician
Or kill all the Jews
Become a white power just to get in the news
Snort come coke, light a spliff,
Mark up your veins
Fuck your Mom, Kill your Dad
Sell M-16s
Snip a wire, rob a bank, cut up some jerk
Or rent a prostitute and call in sick for work
But to me
I just can't see
With your need to belong
What if you're wrong?

Having seen them 3 times in the 80s, (including opening for the Bad Brains at the Living Room) this was a must get. Still holds up. They were already evolving into their own sound by now, kind of like R.I.'s answer to Dagnasty. t0rqreturn2019
